Simulation of a HPGe Detector with GEANT4

Gamma spectroscopy is an analytic technique that identifies isotopes through gamma rays. Currently, widely used in several science fields, for instance, the study of hydrodynamics soils and other applications. Considering development computers, it has been developed Monte-Carlo simulation packages, order to estimate response detectors. This work aims develop a GEANT4 application full energy peak efficiency HPGe detector determine deviation with experimental data. It was carried out measurements next radioactive sources, Am-241, Eu-152, Cs-137, Co-60. These were made at different distances, they 0, 5, 10, 20, 25 cm from detector’s cover layer. Meanwhile, user action classes extract deposited sensitive detector. determined data, these results, estimated detection factor measures between simulated A reason did not include electronic chain acquisition. Finally, suggested future works should more accurate multi-emitters isotopes.
